The town’s skyline is dominated by the Basilica of St. Francis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with frescoes by Cimabue and Giotto, depicting the life of St. Francis.

    Lanciano

    The Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano occurred in the 8th century in Italy when a monk, struggling with doubts about the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist, witnessed the consecrated Host transform into human flesh and the wine into blood during Mass.

  • Board flight from San Diego International Airport to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

  • Arrive in Rome and greeted by the tour manager and bus driver. Transfer to hotel in Rome where we will check in and stay overnight.

  • This morning, we begin our sacred journey by entering the Holy Door at St. Mary Major, where we will celebrate Mass in this magnificent basilica. Next, we visit the Holy Stairs, a site of deep reverence, before passing through the Holy Door at St. John Lateran, the Cathedral of Rome. After lunch, we explore the treasures of the Vatican Museums, marveling at its renowned galleries and culminating in the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. As the day draws to a close, we return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the grace-filled experiences of the day.

  • We begin our day with Mass at St. Paul Outside the Walls, one of Rome’s four major basilicas, where we will enter the Holy Door and reflect on its deep spiritual significance. Returning to the city center, we embark on a walking tour of Imperial Rome, starting with an inside visit to the Colosseum, followed by an exploration of the Roman Forum, the heart of ancient Rome. We then ascend Capitol Hill, cross its elegant square, and make our way to the iconic Trevi Fountain, where we pause to take in its beauty. After a break for lunch, enjoy a leisurely afternoon for shopping and personal exploration around the Trevi Fountain area. We then return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the day's unforgettable experiences.

  • This morning, we transfer to St. Peter’s Square, where we will enter the magnificent St. Peter’s Basilica through the Holy Door and attend the 10:30 AM Mass, with Father Paul concelebrating. At 12:00 PM, we join pilgrims from around the world to receive the Urbi et Orbi blessing from Pope Francis, a profound moment of grace and unity. After a break for lunch, we take a leisurely walk to the charming Piazza Navona, admire the grandeur of the Pantheon, and visit the beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva. The rest of the afternoon is free for personal activities and exploration. We return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, cherishing the blessings of the day.

  • We begin our day with a journey to Montecassino, home to the historic Abbey of Montecassino, founded by St. Benedict in 529 AD. Perched atop a hill, this sacred site offers breathtaking views and a profound sense of peace. We explore the abbey, learning about its rich history, the Benedictine Rule, and its resilience through centuries of destruction and restoration. we continue our pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo, the beloved home of St. Padre Pio. Upon arrival, we check in at our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay

  • We begin our day in San Giovanni Rotondo, the sacred town of St. Padre Pio. We visit the Sanctuary of St. Padre Pio, including the Church of Our Lady of Grace, where he lived and served, and the modern Basilica of St. Pio, which houses his tomb. We take time for prayer, reflection, and veneration, immersing ourselves in the legacy of this beloved saint known for his deep faith, miracles, and stigmata. After lunch, we journey to the awe-inspiring Sanctuary of St. Michael the Archangel in Monte Sant’Angelo, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in Italy. Descending into the sacred cave, we experience the profound peace and holiness of the only church in the world consecrated by St. Michael himself. Following this powerful spiritual experience, we return to our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay, reflecting on the day’s blessings.

  • We begin the day by departing San Giovanni Rotondo, journeying to Lanciano, home of the famous Eucharistic Miracle. At the Church of San Francesco, we witness the site where the miracle occurred in the 8th century, when the host turned into visible flesh and blood during Mass. We take time for prayer and reflection, deeply moved by the profound evidence of Christ's presence in the Eucharist. After our visit, we continue our pilgrimage to the serene and holy town of Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel, where we will enjoy a peaceful dinner and have time to reflect on the powerful spiritual experiences of the day. We then rest for the night, preparing to explore the sacred sites of Assisi tomorrow.

  • We'll start the day with a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis to celebrate Mass at his tomb. Following Mass, a guided tour will take us through the two-level Basilica, with its 13th and 14th-century stained glass and frescoes by Giotto depicting the life of St. Francis. Next, we’ll visit the Basilica of St. Clare, where we’ll see her remains and the miraculous Crucifix. After an independent lunch and some free time, we’ll visit the tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis, known as the "cyber apostle of the Eucharist," to reflect on his life and legacy. Then, we’ll proceed to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, which houses the Porziuncola Chapel and the spot where St. Francis passed away. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

  • We begin our day by leaving Assisi, heading to the picturesque town of Orvieto, renowned for its stunning Duomo, one of Italy's most beautiful cathedrals. Upon arrival, we visit the magnificent Orvieto Cathedral, known for its striking Gothic architecture and the breathtaking frescoes inside, particularly those depicting scenes from the Last Judgment. After our visit, we enjoy a delicious lunch (included), savoring the flavors of the region. In the afternoon, we continue our pilgrimage to Castel Gandolfo, the charming town overlooking Lake Albano, known for its role as the Papal Summer Residence. Upon arrival, we check into our hotel and take time to relax and reflect on the journey so far. In the evening, we gather for a farewell dinner, sharing memories of the spiritual experiences we’ve had together. We spend the night in this serene town, preparing for our departure the next day.

  • At agreed time, a transfer to the airport to catch our flights back home.
