Jesus says, “I am the door.” Holy Doors are opened during Jubilee years, through which pilgrims pass to obtain an indulgence. Jubilee years are a special time of mercy and mark milestones in the history of the Church.

Board flight from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Rome Fiumicino Airport.

Arrive in Rome and greeted by the tour manager and bus driver. Transfer to hotel in Rome where we will check in and stay overnight.

Start your morning by exploring the great papal basilicas of Rome, rich in Christian history and symbolism. Begin at the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, where you’ll admire its stunning mosaics, and then visit San Giovanni in Laterano, one of Rome’s major basilicas. Don’t miss the Holy Stairs nearby, believed to be the staircase Jesus ascended before facing Pontius Pilate. After lunch, head to the Vatican Museums, where an English-speaking guide will lead you through Vatican City. Discover the Sistine Chapel’s iconic frescoes and the grand St. Peter’s Basilica, with highlights like Michelangelo’s Pietà and St. Peter’s tomb.

Begin your day at the Colosseum with Skip-the-Line access, exploring its grand architecture and the ruins of the Roman Forum. Learn about the history of gladiator battles, emperors, and the marvels of Roman engineering in the world’s largest ancient amphitheater, one of the Seven Wonders. After lunch, enjoy a tour of Baroque Rome, visiting Piazza di Spagna and the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona with its stunning fountains, and the iconic Trevi Fountain—toss a coin to ensure your return to Rome! Dinner and overnight in Rome.

Attending the Jubilee of Consolation promises a deeply spiritual and enriching experience. The day begins with a warm welcome and registration, where attendees receive materials and guidance for the event. The opening session, featuring a powerful keynote address, sets a reflective tone by focusing on themes of mercy, hope, and comfort. Throughout the day, a series of workshops and guided reflections allow participants to explore aspects of healing, forgiveness, and community, fostering a sense of peace and solidarity. A solemn procession follows, symbolizing the journey toward inner consolation and collective resilience. The highlight is a celebratory Mass, which brings everyone together to give thanks and renew their commitment to compassion. The day concludes with a fellowship gathering, allowing participants to share experiences and strengthen connections.

8:00AM - 6:00PM: Pilgrimage to the Holy Door with oppurtunity for confefssions in the Jubilee Churches
5:00PM - “Restoring Hope, drying tears” - prayer vigil with the Holy Father (St. Peter’s Basilica) -
Exploring Rome and the Vatican on your own over two days offers a wealth of lesser-known gems and iconic sites beyond the typical highlights. Some ideas on your first day, begin at Capitoline Hill and visit the Capitoline Museums to admire classical sculptures and art. From there, head to the Roman Forum to wander through ancient ruins and imagine life in the heart of ancient Rome. Walk over to Piazza Navona, a beautiful square with baroque fountains, bustling cafes, and lively street performers. After a leisurely lunch, make your way to Campo de' Fiori, where you’ll find a vibrant market during the day, perfect for tasting local treats. As evening approaches, take a peaceful walk up to Pincio Terrace in Villa Borghese for a panoramic sunset view over the city. On day two, start with the Galleria Borghese, where you can marvel at masterpieces by Bernini, Caravaggio, and Raphael. Afterward, explore Piazza del Popolo nearby, known for its twin churches and central obelisk. A short walk will take you to the Ara Pacis, a beautifully preserved altar dedicated to peace in honor of Emperor Augustus. For lunch, cross the Tiber River to the Jewish Ghetto, known for its delicious Roman-Jewish cuisine and historical charm. After lunch, visit Castel Sant'Angelo, a fortress with a fascinating history and panoramic views of Rome. Conclude your day in Trastevere, a charming neighborhood with narrow, cobbled streets and vibrant nightlife, where you can enjoy an authentic Roman dinner at a cozy trattoria.
