Daily Itinerary

  • Get ready to embark on a memorable trip to Portugal and Spain. Depart USA bound for Lisbon or Porto, Portugal.

  • Arrive or Meet the group in Porto, Portugal where you will check in at the hotel. Transfers available upon request. Overnight in Porto.

  • Start the day with a guided sightseeing tour of Porto (3 to 4 hours) and free time in the city before an orientation dinner at a local winery. Overnight in Porto. (Breakfast & Dinner included)(Breakfast & dinner included)

  • Today we start with a transfer from Porto to Vigo. The walk starts from Vigo to Arcade with a distance of 22 KM. Transfer back to Vigo for overnight. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • Our second day starts with a transfer to Arcade and walk to Pontevedra with a distance of 11 KM. Overnight in Pontevedra. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • Our third day starts with a walk from Pontevedra to Caldas De Reis with a distance of 23 KM. Overnight in Caldas De Reis. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • Our fourth day starts with a walk from Caldas De Reis to Padron with a distance of 19 KM. Overnight in Padron. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • Our fifth and final day starts from Padron to Santiago De Compostela where you will reach St. James Church to finish your 100 KM minimum for an official stamp on your pilgrims passport. Overnight in Santiago de Compostela. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • In the morning, a guided visit to Santiago De Compostela’s old quarter and cathedral. After, we will have a transfer to Finisterre for some free time. Finisterre marks the final and official end of your Camino De Santiago journey. Back to Santiago De Compostela for the remainder of the day and overnight. (Breakfast & Dinner included)

  • At agreed time, a transfer back to Porto airport to catch your flights back home.

The Walking Route

  • This route takes them along scenic paths, coastal landscapes, and charming villages, offering a mix of natural beauty and cultural exploration. Arcade, known for its medieval bridge and historical significance, is often a welcomed stop on the pilgrimage journey.

  • Upon reaching Pontevedra, pilgrims can explore the town's historic center, characterized by its well-preserved medieval architecture, including churches, squares, and charming streets. The Alameda, a tree-lined promenade, and the Church of the Pilgrim are notable attractions.

  • Caldas de Reis itself is a town with a rich history and landmarks such as the Church of Santa Maria, the Plaza de Fefiñáns, and the old public laundry known as "lavadero de fontes."

  • In Padrón, pilgrims can visit the Church of Santiago, which houses the Pedrón, a stone traditionally believed to be the one to which the boat carrying the body of St. James was moored. The town is also associated with the medieval poet and cleric Rosalía de Castro.

  • The city is renowned for its stunning cathedral, the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, which is a masterpiece of Romanesque, Gothic, and Baroque architecture. Pilgrims from various routes converge at the cathedral, where the tradition is to attend the Pilgrim's Mass and embrace the statue of St. James behind the high altar.

FAQs

What happens if I cannot walk the whole Camino?

We will have a bus at disposal so in the case you want to ride in the bus - you can do so upon your own discretion. Walkers will have the chance to leave their belonging on the bus which will always be visible and accessible during the Camino route daily.

Do I have to be fit to walk the Camino?

We highly encourage individuals who can comfortably walk on different terrain in different weather conditions. The daily walk is typically flat with some hills that can be challenging for some. We advise to prepare for the Camino by starting at home with walking 3-5 Miles a day and working up to comfortably walking 10-12 miles a day prior to the Camino.

What Do I pack for the Camino?

We highly suggest to pack light and during the daily Camino walk to stay hydrated and walk with comfortable, rubber soled shoes, or sandals. Wearing double socks is advisable to prevent blisters and having rain ready wear with a light backpack or sack to hold snacks and energy bars.

Is Lunch included?

Breakfast and Dinners are included daily, but lunches will be on your own. Lunches will be along the Camino route and is usually a meet up spot for all the Camino walkers before finishing the walk for the day. A typical Spanish lunch is usually light and will typically be around 20-25 Euros in cost.

Luggage Tranfser?

For the walkers, a daily transfer of your luggage will be provided daily and will be available in your next hotel stop. Just take with you what you need for the day and you can leave it on the bus at your disposal. At the end of the day, please make sure to get all your belongings from the bus.

Transfers to airport?

We will have a general transport with our bus on the day of arrival and on the last day from Santiago de Compostela to Porto, Portugal International airport. If you want to avail the transfer, please contact us directly for timing. Otherwise, transfers from the airport to the meeting points (Hotel, Airport) will be on your own.
